The public library board shall meet at least six times a year and shall comply with Montana's open meeting laws.
Meeting the essential standard looks like...
- Post the meeting agenda and notice on your website and your bulletin board far enough in advance to inform the public, a minimum of 48-hours before the meeting.
- HINT: if major decisions or controversial issues will be on the agenda, plan to post the agenda earlier than usual.
- Allow for public comment before voting on anything
- Only vote on items that have been given adequate public notice.
Does your library meet the standard?
