The Montana State Library's Ready 2 Read Early Literacy initiative started back in 2009, and seeks to help parents and caregivers, especially low-income families, understand the value of sharing language and literacy with children, and to help develop their children’s early literacy skills. We provide support directly to parents, families, and caregivers through our Ready 2 Read website, brochures, and information, and we also provide professional development and training to librarians who work with young children and their families. Please look at the following links to learn more:
- Ready 2 Read Montana: This website is for parents and caregivers and can provide helpful resources on how to help children learn and grow, especially aged 0 - 5. Feel free to share this with your patrons directly!
- Ready 2 Read Webpage on MSL Website: This is a list of all the active Ready 2 Read programs that libraries can participate in, as well as current training programs that librarians are encouraged to apply for.
