Learn what happens in the MSC system as items are cataloged, when they go missing from the shelf, or are lost or damaged by patrons, and what to do in terms of catalog clean-up.
Over the course of this session learners should be able to:
- Identify where an item record is in the life cycle, e.g., missing, assumed lost, lost but paid for, processed lost, etc.
- Discuss how best to handle “problem” items to promote catalog clean-up.
- Review your library’s current system settings for automated catalog clean-up.
