Library board authority and the role of local government officials
The authority your board has over the library’s money and budget process is determined by your governing structure. Before reviewing this section, find out if your library is an independent library district, governed by an interlocal agreement, a city or county library, or a library that belongs to a city that has a self-governing charter.
