Explore some challenges that many communities face.
Where
Sometimes we need to be willing to go outside our normal environment to learn about our community and meet with community leaders.
Civic organizations can be one way to encounter the decision-makers in your community in a positive or neutral territory. Kiwanis, Lion's Club, Chamber of Commerce, or other groups might be a place to go in order to listen to what the big issues are for civic-minded community members.
Other venues are the membership organization that support our local government officials directly. Trainings with the Montana League of Cities and Towns or the Montana Association of Counties hold trainings and conferences for officials from across the state. Tracy Cook describes several of these organizations in this short video clip.
